A little history

Soul Miners was started in February 2010 by Helen and Heidi, a mother-daughter actor/writer team which has performed professionally in original shows about topics such as personal spiritual growth and confronting our subconscious racism. For our second term, Bernice Dallas joined us as co-administator with Helen, and Heidi coordinated the virtues classes.

Bernice’s son Josh was a Soul Miners first term student and her assistance with classes and our “Horton the Elephant” production was invaluable and generous. All three live in Urbana. Helen works at the University of Illinois, Bernice at Human Kinetics, and Heidi is a full-time home schooling mom.

Soul Miners was launched with support from both the Champaign and Urbana Bahá’í Spiritual Assemblies, who are happy to help offer a program so consistent with the basic principles of the Bahá’í Faith.

Soul Miners is licensed as a chapter of the Children’s Theatre Company of New York City, which provides both the model for an interfaith virtues-based theatre project and a catalog of original musical scripts.
